DIY (do it yourself)
(Sorry about this being sideways. It wouldn't let me turn it for some reason)
Shirt: H&M
Pencil Skirt: My mom made it!
Nylons: Khols
Shoes: Payless
Sometimes it is too hard to find certain articles of clothing that are modest. What's the solution? Make it! My mom made this pencil skirt using a pattern found in the book Little Green Dresses by Tina Sparkles (pretty great name, huh?). We had to modify the pattern a little (she made it longer and changed the waistband a bit). One thing you have to understand is that my mom doesn't often make clothes so this doesn't require magnificent sewing skills. You don't have to be a master seamstress to make some of your own clothes or even alter them a bit (post on that to come soon).
A pencil skirt is the one thing that I have never been able to find long enough. Thanks so much for sharing this! I would love to know what kind of fabric your mom used to make yours!
I asked her and she doesn't remember what kind of material she used. It is somewhere between cotton and jersey I guess. It has a little bit of a stretch to it but not a lot like a t-shirt would.
